Homestays needed

THREE OPPORTUNITIES ON AUGUST WEEKENDS

The five children aged 10 through 13 and their chaperones (two adults) coming to Minnesota for tennis camp and the KIDS GUERNICA project are looking forward to having a homestay experience with an American family the weekend of August 9/10 and August 16/17.  You do not need to have children to be a host.  You can volunteer for one or both weekends.  Families who host these two weeks will be given tickets to the Obon Festival at Como Park on August 17.

Another opportunity is to host a pair of junior high students from Nagasaki the weekend of August 22-25.  All of these students speak some English and have been vetted to be part of the "Children's Dream" experience.  The 16 students need homestays from Friday afternoon, August 22, to Monday, August 25.  On Saturday morning, they will participate in a program at the Minnesota History Center from 10 to noon.  Host families will be given tickets to the Minnesota State Fair for Sunday, August 24.

For more information about homestays contact Lindsay Arnett at arnett12 AT sbc DOT edu.
