Mayor Suzuki Thank You Letter
Please see thank you letter from Mayor Suzuki in regards to their stay.
Another letter was sent by the City Counsel Chairman.
Dear Ms. Blatchley and Ms. Bemlott,
I hope this letter finds you well. I would like to thank you and all of the members of the SPNSCC for the warm hospitality given to all of us from Nagasaki City during our stay in Saint Paul. All of us are deeply grateful for your kindness, enabling our visit to be an unforgettable one.
During our trip, we could clearly see the warmth and kindness of the people of Saint Paul, and feel the deep affection they hold for the city of Nagasaki, which showed us the gravity and importance of this 70th anniversary we share as sister cities. Through the exchange I had with all of you reconfirmed my belief in how precious it is to forge bonds and friendship across borders.
I would like to express my respect to the SPNSCC for your diligent efforts over many years to develop the friendship between our cities. We would certainly be unable to grow and maintain this long friendship if not for your help.
I hope to walk with you together, as a bridge between our two cities, for the further development of our cultural and civic exchanges.
I have heard that you will be visiting Nagasaki this October on the occasion of the Nagasaki Kunchi festival. I hope you will be able to enjoy this great autumn festival, which boasts over 380 years of history here in Nagasaki. I am looking forward to meeting you again then.
In closing, I would like to wish for the continued good health and success for all of those on the SPNSCC, and I ask for your continued support and cooperation with our city in the future. Yours sincerely, IWANAGA Toshihiro Chairman of the Nagasaki City Council
