Urban Expedition: Japan Feb 11

Satisfy your travel bug this winter and “travel” around the world with Landmark Center. The 2018 season of international adventures kicks off on Jan. 21, 1-3 p.m. Urban Expedition is always free and features crafts, exhibits, music, and dance.  Japanese food will be available for purchase.

 

Entertainment includes taiko drumming by Taikollaborative and Harisen Daiko, dance and kimono show featuring Sansei Yonsei Kai dancers, martial arts demonstrations by Art of Budo, traditional koto music by Fern Davidson and shakuhachi flute by Leo Hanson.  Exhibits include Japanese flower arranging (ikebana) and tree shaping (bonsai), Japanese language camp, Sister Cities, and much more.  Lots of hands-on activities including origami and the game “GO” taught by the Twin Cites Go Society.  Guess when the cherry trees will bloom? contest and crafts. Food available for purchase from Silhouette Bakery and others.  Free street parking in St. Paul on Sundays; ramps available.
